American Red Cross

Prepares communities for emergencies and keeps people safe.  Offers first aid and life saving training, provides disaster relief services, helps military members and international families exchange messages, and conducts blood drives.

 

 
Juvenile Arbitration

Provides fast-track accountability for first-time juvenile offenders charged with committing a non-violent crime.  Volunteer arbitration conduct hearings / conferences and monitor the youths’ progress throughout the program.  Operates through the Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

Cultural Council of Richland / Lexington

Provides leadership, funding and business expertise to artists and arts organizations, and offering a single source of arts-related information to patrons and media. Contributes to economic development and quality of life in the Riverbanks Region by promoting the Arts as the foundation of the knowledge-based economy. 

 

 

Dickerson Center for Children

Operates a one-stop resource center to assist physically and sexually abused children.  Operates a “safe-house” facility for abused children.  

 

 

Friends of the Lexington County Library

 

Through membership dues, book sales, gift shop sales, and special fund-raising activities, the Friends provide funding for non-budgeted library projects and programs.  

 

 
Friends of the Lexington Museum

Assist in the improvement and expansion of the Lexington County Museum.  Sponsors fund-raising projects to help further the Museum’s valuable contribution to the county.

Keep the Midlands Beautiful

Established in 1989 to serve Richland and Lexington Counties, the mission of Keep the Midlands Beautiful is to engage, inspire and educate the Midlands to invest in our community through litter prevention, recycling and beautification.   

Each year, thousands of Midlands residents volunteer to support this mission, including more than 200 groups regularly removing litter on area roads and waterways, schools and businesses coming together to implement recycling programs, and communities pursuing beautification projects .

Lexington County Guardian ad Litem Program

Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who are court-appointed to represent and advocate for the best interests of children in family court proceedings involving allegations of abuse or neglect with the goal of providing a volunteer advocate for every child who is the subject of an abuse and neglect proceeding in South Carolina.

Pawmetto Lifeline, formerly Project Pet

Pawmetto Lifeline, formerly Project Pet. Their mission is to form a federation of like-minded organizations and individuals to alleviate animal suffering; set safe and humane standards for companion pets and shelters; and educate and increase awareness of the necessity for spaying and neutering to reduce the overall number of unwanted companion pets, eventually reducing the need for euthanasia.

South Carolina Artists An artists-for-artists group dedicated to providing public exhibits, professional support and ongoing inspiration for the community as a whole with an understanding that art must be exhibited to truly be appreciated.  SCA's mission is to visually enrich and strengthen the community by promoting the exhibition of local, professional art in work spaces and general public areas.

Provides services to sexual trauma survivors and education about sexual trauma issues.
